Why standards matter here
A programme is only as strong as the system behind it. We are not a regulator or an awarding organisation, and we do not award qualifications ourselves. What we control is the quality of the work we take to a recognised body, and we build that work to internationally recognised standards, so it holds up when the body examines it.
We design and run our own work in line with the principles of the standards below. It is how we keep our method consistent and defensible. It is not a claim that Apollo is certified to them, and it never replaces the recognised body's own decision.
The standards we align our work to
Five standards shape how we design programmes, run quality assurance and handle data.
Quality management
How we run our own quality. The seven quality management principles, the process approach, risk-based thinking and Plan, Do, Check, Act sit under every engagement.
Educational organisations
The management-system standard for education. It shapes how we design programmes around the learner and the outcome, not the topic list.
Certifying people
The benchmark for bodies that certify persons. It informs how we build CPD and professional certification, so the certificate a learner holds actually means something.
Learning services
Requirements for learning services outside formal education. It guides how we specify a course, its objectives, its assessment and the information a learner is given.
Information security
How learner and client data is handled, on the learning platform and in our own files, under a defined and reviewed approach rather than by habit.
How we apply them
Alignment is only worth claiming if it shows in the work. In practice it means:
- Outcomes written to a level, mapped to where each is taught and assessed, so a reviewer can trace the whole thread.
- A documented assessment strategy that tests the level it claims, with reasonable adjustment designed in from the start.
- Internal and external quality assurance on a schedule, with sampling, verification and standardisation that produce records, not assertions.
- A self-assessment report kept live, with an improvement log, so the standard does not decay in the year after approval.
- Data handled under a defined policy, with access limited to the right roles and the records a review will ask for kept in order.
What alignment means, and what we do not claim
What alignment means
- We design and run our work in line with the principles of these standards.
- The frameworks shape our method, from programme design to quality assurance to data.
- We can show the working, so a buyer or a body can see how a decision was reached.
What we do not claim
- We do not hold certification to these standards, and we do not present alignment as a certificate.
- We are not a regulator or an awarding organisation, and we do not award qualifications ourselves.
- Alignment supports the work, it never replaces the recognised body's own decision.
