Who we take on, and who we turn away

Every new client passes the same checks before we quote. We publish them so you know where you stand before the first call, and so our clients know who else we put in front of a regulator.

Short answer

We will take you on if your organisation is registered, if you tell us who owns it, and if there are real learners and qualified teachers behind the course. We will not help anyone get a certificate without the course behind it, promise an approval, or dress up recognition they have not been given. The same checks apply to businesses, public bodies and NGOs.

The checks we run before we quote

  1. The organisation is registered. We look it up on the company register of the country it trades in and check that the details match what you told us.
  2. We know who owns and runs it. We identify the directors and owners, as our anti-money laundering policy requires.
  3. Real learners sit behind the course. We ask who it is for, how it is taught and how it is assessed today.
  4. The teachers are qualified for the level. We ask for the CVs and qualifications of the people who will teach and assess.
  5. What you already claim is true. If your website or brochure mentions recognition you do not actually hold, we ask you to take it down before we begin.

Requests we turn down

  • A certificate or qualification without the course and assessment behind it.
  • A promise of approval. Nobody can honestly sell one, and we do not try.
  • Help describing a CPD certificate as a qualification, or selling recognition that has not been granted.
  • Anything involving backdated records, made-up evidence or a course copied from someone else.
  • Work for anyone who will not say who owns the organisation.
  • A programme that would give learners the wrong idea about what it qualifies them to do. This matters most in regulated professions such as healthcare or law.

What we ask of clients once work starts

  • Access to whatever records, people and systems we need to look at.
  • Time for the quality assurance reviews before and after the submission.
  • A quick word if anything material changes: owners, teachers, sites or the way the course is delivered.

If one of the checks stops being true, we pause the work and talk to you. If it cannot be put right, we end the engagement on the terms set out in our terms of engagement.

Why we publish this

A regulator or accreditation body judges a submission partly on who brought it. Each weak provider a consultancy puts forward makes the next file from that consultancy harder to approve. So when we turn someone away, we are also looking after the clients we already have, and the people they teach.

Common questions

Will you work with a provider in a developing country?

Yes. Where you are based does not decide it. The checks on this page do, and we apply them the same way in every country.

What happens if you turn us down?

We tell you why. If a different route or a different partner would suit you better, we say so.

Can a check fail after work has started?

Yes. If something we relied on stops being true, we pause the work and talk to you. If it cannot be put right, we end the engagement on the terms set out in our terms of engagement.
