Showcase

This is a showcase course we built to show how we work for this sector. The people, organisations and figures in it are invented, and it is not a client project. Your course is built from your content, your policies and your examples.

The brief

What is this course, and who is it for?

This is a showcase course by Apollo Accreditation, the UK and EU course development and accreditation consultancy, built for teachers, lecturers and trainers. It shows how we design for schools and academies, and every activity below works in your browser.

Who it is forTeachers, lecturers and trainers
FormatBlended: 2 live workshops and 3 self-paced units
Length6 hours of CPD over four weeks
Interaction levelLevel 3, Scenario, built to CPD standard

The problem it solves

Plenty of CPD describes good practice and leaves no time to try it.

Here each live session models one technique, teachers use it with a class that week, and the next session starts with what happened. Based on Black and Wiliam's work on formative assessment. A short reflection log gives evidence for CPD records.

What learners can do afterwards

  • Use four quick ways of checking understanding in a lesson
  • Write a hinge question that shows who has misunderstood
  • Adjust the lesson on the spot, based on what they see
  • Keep a reflection log that counts towards CPD hours

Questions

Common questions about this course

Can it count towards CPD hours?

Yes. It is built to CPD standard, and the reflection log records what each teacher did, so it can go forward for CPD Certification.

How long would it take to build a course like this?

As a guide, an interactive module takes four to six weeks from when we receive your material, and a straight conversion two to three. This course has 5 modules, so we plan it in stages, and you review each script before we build it.

Will it work on our learning platform?

Yes, in most cases. We hand courses over as SCORM or xAPI packages, which nearly every learning platform accepts, and we test the finished package on your platform before you sign off. If you don't have a platform, it can run on ours.

FreeCourse diagnostic
